Why We Combine Treatments: Ultherapy PRIME + Microneedling for Skin Laxity & Texture
When it comes to aesthetic treatments, sometimes one treatment is exactly what your skin needs. Other times, the best approach is combining treatments that work at different depths of the skin.
One of our favorite examples at Simply Beautiful is the combination of Ultherapy PRIME + microneedling.
Why? Because these treatments aren't trying to accomplish the exact same thing. Instead, they complement one another—allowing us to address skin laxity, collagen loss, fine lines, texture, and overall skin quality as part of one personalized treatment plan.
What Does Ultherapy PRIME Do?
Ultherapy PRIME is a non-invasive treatment that uses microfocused ultrasound energy to stimulate the body's natural collagen-building process.
The ultrasound energy is delivered beneath the surface of the skin at specific depths, allowing us to target the deeper structural layers without surgery or needles.
Over time, the newly stimulated collagen can help the skin appear firmer, tighter, and more defined.
We especially love Ultherapy PRIME for areas where patients are beginning to notice laxity, including the:
Lower face and jawline
Under the chin
Neck
Brow
Perioral area
One of the biggest things to understand about Ultherapy is that the results are gradual. This isn't a treatment designed to make you look dramatically different overnight. Collagen remodeling takes time, so improvements continue to develop in the months following treatment.
Where Does Microneedling Come In?
While Ultherapy PRIME is working deeper, microneedling focuses more on the skin itself.
At Simply Beautiful, we use the FDA-cleared Exceed Microneedling System to create controlled micro-injuries that stimulate the skin's natural healing response and encourage collagen production.
Microneedling can be especially helpful for improving the appearance of:
Fine lines
Uneven texture
Enlarged pores
Acne scarring
Crepey skin
Dullness
Overall skin quality
This is exactly why these two treatments can work so beautifully together.
Ultherapy PRIME addresses deeper support and laxity, while microneedling focuses on improving the quality and texture of the skin above it.
A Real Simply Beautiful Treatment Plan
For the patient pictured in our before-and-after, we weren't looking to dramatically change her appearance.
Our goal was to create a more defined, “snatched” appearance while helping improve visible skin laxity and overall skin quality.
Rather than expecting one treatment to address every concern, we developed a combination approach using Ultherapy PRIME and microneedling.
By treating the skin at different depths, we were able to create a treatment plan that addressed both the deeper structural support of the area and the appearance of the skin itself.

Every patient responds differently, and individual results vary. A consultation is important to determine which treatments—and which combination of treatments—make sense for you.
Why Not Just Do More Ultherapy or More Microneedling?
Because more isn't always better.
This is something we talk about often at Simply Beautiful. A good aesthetic treatment plan isn't about fitting as many treatments as possible into your routine.
It's about understanding what is causing the concern you're seeing and choosing the right treatment to address it.
If the primary concern is laxity, repeatedly treating surface texture alone may not give you the result you're looking for.
Likewise, addressing deeper laxity doesn't necessarily address every concern involving texture, pores, fine lines, or skin quality.
That's where thoughtful combination treatments can make a difference.
Is Ultherapy PRIME + Microneedling Right for Everyone?
No—and we actually think that's important to say.
Someone with significant skin laxity may require a completely different approach than someone with very early changes. Another patient may be more concerned about texture than lifting. And someone else may be perfectly suited for microneedling without needing Ultherapy at all.
Your age alone doesn't determine your treatment plan either.
We look at your skin, anatomy, degree of laxity, concerns, previous treatments, and goals before recommending a plan.
Sometimes that means combining treatments.
Sometimes it means choosing only one.
And sometimes the best recommendation is to wait.
When Will I See Results?
The timeline is different for each treatment.
Microneedling can begin improving the appearance and feel of the skin as it heals, while collagen remodeling continues over time. A series of treatments may be recommended depending on your concerns.
Ultherapy PRIME results develop more gradually because the treatment relies on your body's natural collagen-building response. Patients may continue to notice changes over the following months.
That's another reason we don't judge a combination treatment plan immediately after it's performed.
Collagen takes time.
The Goal: Natural Results That Still Look Like You
Our philosophy at Simply Beautiful has never been about changing someone's face or chasing every aesthetic trend.
We want you to look like you—refreshed, confident, and comfortable in your skin.
Combination treatments give us another way to personalize that process. Instead of asking one device or treatment to do everything, we can choose technologies that address different concerns and work together toward the same goal.
More treatments don't automatically mean better results. The right treatments do.
If you're noticing changes in your jawline, neck, skin texture, firmness, or overall skin quality and aren't sure where to start, we would be happy to help determine whether Ultherapy PRIME, microneedling, or a combination of the twomakes sense for you.
