Chemical Peel Process: A Day-by-Day Breakdown

If you’ve ever wondered what really happens before, during, and after a chemical peel, you’re not alone. At Simply Beautiful, we use Glytone® Enerpeels®, advanced professional chemical peels designed to deliver powerful results with precision and safety. Chemical peels are one of the most effective ways to improve skin tone, texture, acne, and signs of aging—but knowing what to expect can make the experience feel much more comfortable.

Here’s a clear, day-by-day breakdown of the chemical peel process, so you can feel confident and prepared.

Before Your Peel: How to Prepare

Proper preparation helps ensure safe treatment and optimal results.

1–2 weeks before your peel:

  • Avoid retinol, exfoliants, and harsh skincare unless instructed otherwise

  • Limit sun exposure and wear SPF daily

  • Inform your provider of any medications or recent treatments

Your provider will select the appropriate Glytone Enerpeel formulation and strength based on your skin type, concerns, and goals.

Day 0: Treatment Day

On the day of your Glytone Enerpeel® treatment:

  • Your skin will be cleansed and prepped

  • The chemical solution is applied and left on for a controlled amount of time

  • You may feel tingling, warmth, or mild stinging (this is normal)

Immediately after:

  • Skin may appear pink or slightly flushed

  • A tight or warm sensation is common

  • You’ll leave with post-care instructions and recommended skincare

Most treatments take 30 minutes or less, making peels easy to fit into a busy schedule.

Day 1: Post-Peel Calm

What to expect:

  • Mild redness or tightness

  • Skin may feel dry or sensitive

What to do:

  • Use gentle cleanser and approved post-peel products

  • Apply moisturizer as directed

  • Avoid makeup unless your provider says it’s okay

  • Stay out of the sun and apply SPF

Day 2–3: Peeling Begins

This is when results start to show.

You may notice:

  • Light to moderate peeling or flaking

  • Dry patches, especially around the mouth and nose

Important reminders:

  • Do not pick or pull peeling skin

  • Continue gentle skincare only

  • Keep skin well hydrated

Peeling intensity varies depending on the specific Glytone Enerpeel formulation used.

Day 4–5: Renewal Phase

At this stage:

  • Peeling slows or stops

  • Fresh, new skin begins to appear

  • Tone may look brighter and more even

Your skin may still be slightly sensitive, so sun protection remains essential.

Day 6–7: Results Reveal

By the end of the first week:

  • Skin looks smoother and more radiant

  • Texture appears refined

  • Acne, pigmentation, and fine lines may look improved

Makeup can usually be worn normally again, and you’ll return to your regular skincare routine as advised.

Long-Term Results & Maintenance

While you’ll see improvement after one peel, a series of Glytone Enerpeels® often delivers the best results—especially for acne, hyperpigmentation, and anti-aging.

Your provider will recommend:

  • Treatment frequency

  • At-home skincare to maintain results

  • Complementary treatments for enhanced outcomes
